Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value.

– Albert Einstein

We often judge things based on their success, rather than on their value.

What is the value of a successful medicine? Many of our drugs are not cures. In fact, many of them are outright poisons. Successful doctors at successful hospitals in successful cities and towns prescribe them to patients who, nonetheless, fail to get better.

This post is for those of you who strive to know the difference between successful medicine, and medicine that is of real value.

What is of value in medicine?

How about:

  • A doctor who listens
  • Medications that bring balance to a system over a short time, and are then no longer necessary
  • Labs that inform us of what to eat, how to prepare it, and how often to eat

Does your doctor offer you these things?

I wearied of a medical system in which I was pushed to prescribe, but never to listen. To do, but never to heal. And that is why I do not work in the conventional medical system anymore.

Be well.
